Cracking down on illegal sand transportation, the police seized two sand-laden bullock carts in the Kollegal Town Police Station limits on Monday.

A statement from the Chamarajanagar District Police said the police personnel, acting on credible information received by Kollegal Town Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Varsha B.V., intercepted two bullock carts loaded with sand while they were moving along the Kalihundi road near Anagalli from the villages of Hampapura and Dasanapura.

The two sand-laden bullock carts were seized, and legal action was initiated against four accused persons identified as Srinivasa and Mahesh from Anagalli village, and Nagaraju and Basavaraju from Dasanapura village.
