Teachers who produced cent per cent result in Secondary School Leaving Certificate and Plus Two public examinations in the academic year 2025 – 2026, and students who scored high marks were honoured at a function held here on Saturday.

Collector Anand Mohan, in the presence of MLAs Reddiyarpatti V. Narayanan, K. Sathish Christopher and R.S. Murughan, Deputy Mayor K.R. Raju and Chief Educational Officer Sivakumar, honoured the teachers for their stupendous work and the meritorious students for their high marks with mementoes and certificates.

The Collector also honoured the teachers who produced more number of students, who bagged National-Means-cum-Merit Scholarship, and the top 10 scholarship-winning students.

Thanking the teachers profusely for producing cent per cent result in their schools, Mr. Anand Mohan said the educators, despite their compelling commitments back home, had moulded the students in such a way through their hard work and the students had paid back their gratitude to their teachers with enviable performance in the public examination. Apart from regular classes, the special classes conducted by the teachers even on holidays had resulted in increase in pass percentage of the district.

The Collector appealed to the students to choose their area of interest in higher education and excel in the field of their choice.

“The students, especially those from government schools, should try hard to join institutions of national excellence to bring laurels to their schools and their teachers, which is the greatest gratitude one can show to their teachers,” Mr. Anand Mohan said and appealied to them to avoid alcoholism and substance abuse throughout their life.

The Collector honoured 11 headmasters and headmistresses who retired from service this year, the students who bagged top 10 places in the district in the NMMS examination, 79 schools that recorded cent per cent result in the SSLC and Plus Two public examination and 2,200 teachers of these schools.
