The nine Assembly constituencies in Tiruchi district have received about 25,000 postal votes, pushing up the overall polling percentage to 86.58.
As per the figures furnished by the district authorities after the polling on April 23, the district had recorded 85.42% polling. With 25,063 postal ballots being received till May 1, the polling percentage has gone up slightly. The figure may go up further marginally as postal ballots of service voters would be accepted till 8 a.m. on May 4, the counting day, officials said.
