Jana Sena Party (JSP) district president and Anantapur Hindupur Urban Development Authority (AHUDA) chairman T.C. Varun stated that Deputy Chief Minister and JSP chief K. Pawan Kalyan is the only leader who has supported the Kapu community.

Criticising the YSRCP leaders for targeting Mr. Pawan Kalyan, he said that the YSRCP acted on the orders of their party chief, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who viewed Kapus as farmhands.

“The objective of the meeting was to confine Mr. Pawan Kalyan within the narrow framework of caste. This is shameful. Mr. Pawan Kalyan is regarded as a leader who cares about the welfare of society and the nation,” Mr. Varun said.

“The Kapu community will not benefit from leaders who thrive under the patronage of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who devastated the future of Kapu youth during his five-year tenure,” he said.

The JSP district president alleged that the previous YSRCP government had rendered the Kapu Corporation ineffective for five years. He stated that the construction of Kapu Kalyana Mandapams (community halls) was halted and that scholarships were not provided to Kapu students. He added that students who aspired to go abroad for higher education, hoping for government financial assistance, faced immense hardships.
