Two persons are reported to have died in separate incidents of lightning reported in different parts of Mysuru district on Wednesday.

During the heavy rainfall, one Appaiah, a resident of Maladahalli village in H. D. Kote taluk is reported to have been struck by lightning around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, according to sources.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Yashodhamma, wife of Boregowda, a resident of Hosapura village in Hunsur taluk also lost her life on Wednesday after she was struck by lightning during the rain.

Sources here said the deceased Yashodhamma is survived by her husband and two daughters.

Cow struck

In another case in Nooralakuppe village in Antharashanthe in H D Kote taluk, a cow is reported to have died after it was struck by lightning.
