The Greater Chennai Corporation officials will conduct a field inspection on June 15 to verify the functioning of all streetlights across the city.
According to a press release, the inspection will be carried out ward-wise in all 15 zones by GCC officials on Monday evening. Residents can report non-functioning lights to the Corporation’s helpline, 1913, the release said.
The Corporation has installed and maintains streetlights and high mast lights at roads, streets, flyovers, subways, parks, bus stands, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Board residential areas, and burial grounds.
In total, 3,11,285 streetlights and high mast lights are maintained by the civic body.
