A probe ordered on April 23 into alleged medical negligence at Victoria Hospital has found no evidence linking the hospital’s treatment to the death of a 45-year-old patient.
The inquiry was initiated after the patient’s family alleged lapses in care. The victim, a delivery worker, had been admitted on February 19 with swelling in the genital region and was later diagnosed with Fournier’s Gangrene along with uncontrolled diabetes. His wife claimed that despite undergoing procedures and being referred to the department of Plastic Surgery, he was discharged without proper healing, suturing, or coordinated care, and was sent home despite continued bleeding.
