DMDK general secretary Premallatha Vijayakant on Saturday said the DMK alliance will win over 200 seats in this Assembly elections.
Addressing the public at six locations in the Omalur constituency, she said the DMK alliance will form government for the seventh time and M.K. Stalin will become Chief Minister for a second time.
This is the people’s alliance. Students will get breakfast and midday meal at the government schools. After the DMK comes to power, the ₹8,000 coupon announced by the Chief Minister, which got a rousing response from women, will be distributed equally.
The opposition party (AIADMK) promised refrigerators, which every household has anyway. Using the ₹8,000 coupon, however, people can exchange their old appliances for new ones, she said.
This is a five-cornered election, including one person who came with a whistle. The people, as such, should vote for the DMK alliance, she added.
Alleging that Omalur MLA R. Mani has not done anything for the people and terming him as corrupt, Ms. Premallatha said that after DMDK wins the elections, a four-lane road will be laid between Deevattipatti and Bommidi; Kadayampatti government hospital will be upgraded; a scent unit will be established at Kadayampatti for marigold farmers; bus services will be provided to Yercaud from Deevattipatti via Kanavaipudur; and a community hall will be built at Veppilai.
Surplus water will be pumped from Mettur Dam and supplied for irrigation and drinking water, she promised.
