In an unusual development, the Postal Department has returned a complaint addressed to the Chief Minister of Kerala, stating that the Chief Minister’s Office is not functioning. The incident has drawn attention and sparked curiosity across the State.
The complaint was sent by Shafna, wife of Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Pavaratty. However, the letter was returned to the sender with the remark that the Chief Minister’s Office is not operational.
The development comes at a time when uncertainty continues over the appointment of a new Chief Minister in the State. The former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan resigned from the post on May 4, 2026, following the defeat of the Left Democratic Front in the Assembly elections.
There has been a delay in finalising a new Chief Minister by the United Democratic Front.
The incident highlights the difficulties faced by the public, with even routine grievances reportedly going unaddressed in the absence of a functioning Chief Minister’s Office.
