Ahead of the run-up to International Yoga Day, a special session of Yogandhra training and awareness programme was conducted at the scenic Chitravathi Harathi Ghat in Sri Sathya Sai district here on Sunday. The event saw the participation of residents, officials, students, and representatives of voluntary organisations.
Led by experienced yoga trainers, participants practised various yoga postures and ‘pranayama’ techniques to promote physical fitness, mental well-being and overall health. The quiet ambience along the banks of Chitravathi river enhanced the session’s appeal.
Speaking on the occasion, organisers called on the participants to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, noting that regular practice helps reduce stress, improves concentration and contributes to a healthier lifestyle. They said that people of all age groups and walks of life should embrace yoga as an effective means of achieving physical and mental wellbeing.
Collector A. Shyam Prasad said the programme was part of the district’s efforts to extensively promote awareness on the benefits of yoga ahead of International Yoga Day celebrations. Officials from the DRDA, District Sports Authority, Revenue, and Medical and Health departments were present.
