Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka of the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)-Hyderabad to extend the visa of a Russian woman Alena Evgenievna Pavlova living in Hyderabad on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
The judge also instructed the FRRO not to impose any overstay penalty on her since she applied for extension of visa within stipulated time. A Linguistics student and diploma holder in Foreign Languages and Culture from Vologda university of Russia, the Russian had been actively associated with translating Indian literature into Russian since 2018.
