Bharti Airtel Ltd reported a 39% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit (before exceptional items) at ₹7,245 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, compared with ₹5,222 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal (the profits are 34% lower year-over-year if a one-time Indus Towers consolidation last year is taken into account). 

The India business posted quarterly revenues of ₹39,566 crore, up 7.7%. The firm said that mobile revenues were up year-over-year, but average revenue per user (ARPU) has plateaued quarter-on-quarter, since the last tariff hike’s impact has completely filtered through to the firm’s finances. “Airtel Business experienced strong quarterly growth of 2.6%, backed by both connectivity and robust growth in the digital services portfolio,” the firm said in a statement.

The firm added 80 lakh postpaid customers in the quarter, bringing its total of such customers, who contribute higher ARPU, to 2.9 crore. Africa growth outpaced India’s, executive vice chairman and former CEO Gopal Vittal said. “India revenue, including passive infrastructure services, grew 0.9% sequentially, while Africa delivered a constant currency growth of 1.1% QoQ,” Mr. Vittal said in a statement.

“Capex for the quarter stood at 16,066 crore, with sustained investments across 5G densification, accelerated fiber deployment, Connected Homes growth, Airtel business and Data Centers,” Airtel said. 

The firm has seen double digit home broadband and TV growth, since the share of those customers is low across the industry in India. “The Homes segment saw robust revenue growth of 37.3% YoY, driven by strong base expansion,” Airtel said. Revenues for the home segment stood at ₹2,191 crore with 1.42 crore customers. Airtel Business’s growth was relatively lower, with 3.3% growth to ₹5,490 crore.
