Minister for Dairy Development C. Vijayalakshmi on Saturday asked officials to ensure the government schemes reached the targeted beneficiaries.
Participating in a review meeting here at the Collector Office, Ms. Vijayalakshmi, who is the Minister in-charge of Karur district, said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had promised a clean and transparent administration. He was committed to work for the uplift of the people of all walks of life. The officials should work according to the expectations of the Chief Minister. All government schemes should reach the beneficiaries. The heads of departments should work in a systematic manner to implement all schemes.
She said the people had a number of expectations. They would approach the government offices for fulfilling various needs. The officials should try their best to address their grievances in all possible manner.
Ms. Vijayalakshmi said that 26,060 students belonging to 768 schools in the district benefited under the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme. The Chief Minister had issued orders to expand the scheme to students studying up to Class VIII from September 17 in the State. It would be implemented in 299 schools in the district. The officials concerned should work out a plan to implement the scheme without glitches.
She reviewed the progress of online patta transfers, issue of various certificates to the students, social security scheme, status of ongoing drinking water schemes, construction of houses under various schemes, stray dog management, and implementation of solid waste management in Karur and various rural local bodies.
Collector C. Muthukumaran presided over the meeting. Karur Member of Parliament S. Jothimani was present.
Earlier, the Minister distributed welfare assistance to various beneficiaries.
