U.S. President Donald Trump will meet ‌separately with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the G7 summit in ‌France next week, senior U.S. administration officials ‌said on Saturday (June 13, 2026).

Official sources had confirmed to The Hindu earlier that Mr. Modi is expected to meet Mr. Trump on the sidelines of the G-7 summit taking place in Evian, France on June 16-17.

Mr. Modi embarked on a six-day visit to France and Slovakia on Saturday (June 13, 2026). According to the statement issued before his departure, Mr. Modi will be travelling to Evian and will be participating in the G7 summit on June 16 and 17. Mr. Modi said “India’s presence at the G7 reflects the trust our partners place in us and our growing global profile. This is the eighth consecutive G7 Summit to which India has been invited. At the G7, India will not only speak for itself, but it will also give voice to the aspirations of the Global South.”

The meeting will mark the first interaction between Mr. Modi and Mr. Trump since they last met in February 2025 in Washington DC. The sources did not elaborate on the details of the planned discussion but it is understood that the two sides will cover the bilateral trade pact under negotiation, and other regional and global matters of mutual concern. The officials provided this information soon after sharing details on Mr. Modi’s upcoming travel schedule for France and the Slovak Republic.

Mr. Trump will be meeting with West Asian leaders and attend a working session with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Officials also said ‌that Mr. Trump would meet separately with the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, France and India. No bilateral meeting ‌was planned with Mr. Zelenskyy but the two leaders could meet on the sidelines ‌of the summit, they added.

Mr. Trump planned to raise issues of shared importance with leaders at the summit, including economic growth and development, ‌supply chain resilience, illegal migration and AI, one of the officials said. He also planned to work on boosting resilience in ‌the supply chain for critical minerals needed for advanced technologies.

Mr. Trump planned to attend a dinner at the palace of Versailles on Wednesday before returning to Washington, the ‌officials said.
