Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar on Tuesday (June 16, 2026) announced that 1.63 crores electors of Jharkhand are not required to submit any document in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.

He also added that these voters are required to submit duly filled pre-filled enumeration form and signed along with recent colour photographs during enumeration period to enter their name in the draft SIR electoral roll and then, final SIR electoral roll of 2026.

“Congratulating the all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Jharkhand for completing first session of self and parental mapping of existing voters of 2026 electoral roll with 2003 SIR electoral roll of Jharkhand to limit the number of electors who are required to submit documents during notice and verification period (5th August 2026 to 3rd October 2026),” Mr. Kumar said in Ranchi.

He further said, “Your hard work and dedication to the nation by serving as BLO ensured that 1.63 crores of existing electors of the 2026 electoral roll of Jharkhand are not required to submit any document in the ongoing SIR process. I do sense some challenges are being faced by BLOs from some stakeholders in this SIR process.”

Mr. Kumar added that through the hard work, dedication, and knowledge of the electoral process, BLOs will overcome the challenges in the service to the nation and service to fellow citizens of India who want to register as elector.

He also informed that Gyanesh Kumar, Chief Election Commissioner of India during his two visits to Jharkhand interacted with many BLOs of Jharkhand and appreciated Jharkhand’s BLOs knowledge on electoral process and their hard work.

SIR process will formally begin in Jharkhand on June 30, 2026 by house-to-house visit by BLOs. Whereas second and last session of self and parental mapping of remaining unmapped existing electors in 2026 electoral roll of Jharkhand will be done during Enumeration Period (30th June 2026 to 29th July 2026).

“Unmapped electors are requested to provide the details of 2003 SIR electoral roll of Jharkhand or other state/UT if you or your parent was registered as electors in previous SIR electoral roll outside Jharkhand to BLO during house-to-house visit of BLOs during enumeration period. Electors, representatives of political parties including their Booth Level Agent (BLA-2) and other stakeholders in the electoral process can easily search their name in previous SIR details from www.voters.eci.gov.in,” Mr. Kumar said.

He asserted that self or parental mapping of existing voters are being done to reduce the requirement of submission of documents by electors. Mr. Kumar also said that eligible citizens of India who are turning 18 years of age on 1st October 2026 are requested to submit Form-6 along with declaration form in prescribed format and supporting documents as prescribed by ECI.

He added that extract page of parent voter registration details of previous SIR or self in case of eligible citizen who registered in 2003 SIR but not registered in 2026 electoral roll is also considered as sufficient document for parent or self as the case may be to register as new elector in Jharkhand and other documents depending upon the date of birth and place of birth.

“There is no need for the migrant labour, students studying outside Jharkhand or others who are staying out of Jharkhand temporarily to present personally before BLO for mapping purposes. On behalf of migrant labour, students studying outside Jharkhand, etc can do mapping by contacting BLO through family member or BOOK-A-CALL with BLO facility available in the ECINET or phone number of BLO mentioned in the sticker affixed in each house of Jharkhand,”Mr. Kumar said.

Similarly, Enumeration Form also can be signed by family member of migrant labour mentioning the relation type and name, online through ECINET or by getting personalised Enumeration Form from BLO in electronic form and they can send signed Enumeration Form electronically to BLO through electronic communication means, he added.
