An under-construction warehouse in Kolkata’s Taratala area collapsed on Wednesday (June 24, 2026) afternoon. Several workers are feared to be trapped inside the collapsed structure.
An official told The Hindu that 13 people have so far been rescued and taken to the nearest hospital.
According to locals present at the accident site, 50 to 60 workers were working at the site when the accident took place. Rescue teams have started the work of cutting the iron beam and bringing the workers out.
The Disaster Management Department of the West Bengal government have opened a control room where people can reach out at 8697981070, 033 22143526 and 033 22535185 in connection with the accident at Taratala
