The jallikattu event organised at Palaiyapalayam village in Tiruchi district on Friday left 31 persons injured. Over 800 bulls were released during the seven-hour event with the number of participating tamers being 266. 

Two of the injured were referred to the Government Hospital, Thuvarankurichi, and the remaining 29 were treated as out-patients at the event venue, said police sources.
