Sangamam 2026 - summer camp, a joint initiative of People’s Watch, IDEAS and Manonmani Trust, which is organised from April 25 to May 2, is a novel idea to rediscover the simple delights of childhood – often stolen by hardship – through play, creativity and community.
‘Sangamam,’ unites kids from the marginalised Kal Ottar communities, where the People’s Watch has operated tuition centres for over a decade.
Historically termed ‘criminals’ under the British-era Criminal Tribes Act of 1871 - a law long promised repeal but whose stigma lingers, limiting their opportunities and social standing.
