Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has so far allotted land to 114 institutions in Amaravati, covering a total of 1,269 acres.

The details were discussed in the Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting on Amaravati land allotments, which was held online on Friday.

The meeting was attended by Ministers P. Narayana (MA&UD), P. Keshav (Finance), T.G. Bharath (Industries), K. Durgesh (Tourism), K. Ravindra (Mines) and G. Sandhya Rani (Women and Child Welfare). CRDA Commissioner V. Vijay Rama Raju participated in the online review meeting on land allotments in Amaravati.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat after the meeting, Mr. Narayana said the allocated institutions included 70 government and 44 private organisations. These comprise 16 banks, eight housing projects for bank employees, 22 educational institutions, 13 State government organisations, 17 Central government institutions, seven medical institutions, 14 hotels, two sports bodies and five others.

The Minister said 20 institutions had commenced construction, while nine completed their projects. Another 18 were in the payment stage, 25 in the agreement phase and 38 in the design stage.

He said three institutions — GRT Hotels, Splendor and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) — had withdrawn from allotted land parcels for various reasons. According to him, the IRCTC cancelled its allotment following a policy decision not to undertake new construction projects.

Mr. Narayana said 16 institutions had already applied for land allotment, which would be processed through Expressions of Interest (EOI) or Request for Proposal (RfP) mechanisms.

‘No diesel shortage’

Dismissing concerns over global fuel supply disruptions, the Minister said there was no diesel shortage affecting Amaravati construction works, as contractors ensured uninterrupted supply for heavy machinery.

He also revealed that some Mumbai-based film personalities, including an actor, had expressed interest in seeking land allotment in Amaravati. However, he said the government was scrutinising Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), financial statements and balance sheets before approving allotments to avoid stalled projects due to financial constraints.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Mr. Narayana said Amaravati’s development would continue without interruption in line with the aspiration of thousands of farmers who contributed land under the pooling system.
