The Mananthavady Assembly constituency in Wayanad is witnessing a neck-and-neck contest between O. R. Kelu, a CPI(M) leader and Minister in the outgoing Cabinet, and Usha Vijayan of the Congress, with the lead changing frequently.
After Ms. Vijayan took an early lead in the initial rounds of counting, Mr. Kelu regained the lead in the fourth round. However, by the end of the 10th round of counting, Ms. Vijayan has once again moved ahead, leading by a margin of 1,072 votes.
