Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu declared that on every Friday he would meet associations of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as representatives of industrial sectors to discuss their issues and suggestions.

The decision comes amid the State government’s emphasis on ease of doing business (EoDB) benefits reaching small units and women as well as rural entrepreneurs instead of limiting to large companies. Industrial growth is about improving people’s livelihoods than just attracting investments and the government’s vision is to ensure everyone benefits from EoDB measures, he said, announcing Fridays will be dedicated for the meetings.

In a release on his address at the inauguration of Industrial Innovation & Technology Expo — IITEX 2026 — here on Friday, the Deputy CM’s office said he also underscored the importance of manufacturing. The growth should not remain confined to the services sector and the contribution of the manufacturing sector, particularly MSMEs, to the State GDP must increase. Manufacturing plays a vital role in employment generation and strengthening the rural economy, he said.

Rising peak power demand met

Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, who is also the Power Minister, said despite the peak power demand rising from 15,000 MW to 18,500 MW over the past two-and-a-half years, Telangana has ensured uninterrupted, quality power supply without any power cuts. The State, whose installed solar power capacity has crossed 5 GW, is targetting 34 GW of solar power by 2035.

IITEX 2026 is the third edition in the expo series and organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI). The Deputy CM appreciated FTCCI for remaining a a strong bridge between the government and industry.

A showcase and platform

The three-day expo showcases Telangana’s industrial strength, innovation, manufacturing excellence, industrial automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, smart factories and other emerging technologies, the organisers said in a release. FTCCI president R. Ravi Kumar said IITEX 2026 has been designed to connect businesses, technology providers, buyers and policymakers under one roof. “Our objective is to facilitate networking, business leads, technology adoption and strategic partnerships,” he said.
