AP ICET-2026 records 91.41% pass rate; women outshine men

More than 21,000 candidates qualified in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test (AP ICET)-2026, with the examination recording an overall pass percentage of 91.41%. AP ICET is conducted for admission into MBA and MCA courses offered by universities and affiliated colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

Of the 23,198 candidates who appeared for the test, 21,205 qualified. A total of 26,219 candidates had registered for the examination, which was conducted on May 2 in two sessions across 91 test centres in 24 districts of Andhra Pradesh and one centre in Hyderabad.

According to the AP ICET-2026 results analysis released by Andhra University on Saturday, female candidates outperformed male candidates in terms of pass percentage. Of the 12,766 female candidates who appeared for the examination, 11,825 qualified, registering a success rate of 92.62%. In comparison, 9,380 of the 10,432 male candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 89.91%.

Vaishnavi Patnala secured the first rank, followed by Burru Venkata Siddartha Yadav in second place. Shaik Khajaliyakhath stood third, while Panyam Ramachandra Reddy secured the fourth rank. Jada Nani Mahesh Babu secured the fifth rank.

Randhi Taraka Sai Krishna Kanth stood sixth, while Bokam Prathyusha secured the seventh rank. Pavada Usha bagged the eighth rank, Nallapati Harsha Vardhan secured the ninth rank, while Thuraka Mallikarjuna stood tenth.

A district-wise analysis showed that Visakhapatnam district recorded the highest participation, with 3,250 candidates registering for the examination, including 1,340 males and 1,910 females. Of them, 2,679 candidates qualified. NTR district also witnessed significant participation, with 1,816 registrations and 1,507 candidates qualifying. West Godavari district registered 1,852 candidates, of whom 1,512 qualified.

In districts such as East Godavari district, Kakinada district, Vizianagaram district and Srikakulam district, female candidates recorded notably higher participation and qualification numbers than male candidates. In Kakinada district, 596 female candidates qualified against 437 male candidates, while in Vizianagaram district, 752 female candidates qualified compared to 483 male candidates.

The local area-wise analysis revealed that candidates from the Andhra University (AU) region performed better than those from the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) region. Of the 13,895 candidates who appeared from the AU region, 12,994 qualified, registering a pass percentage of 93.50%. In the SVU region, 7,483 of the 8,537 candidates qualified, recording a pass percentage of 87.65. Non-local candidates registered the highest pass percentage at 95.03%, with 728 of the 766 candidates qualifying.

The local area and gender-wise analysis further showed that female candidates from the AU region dominated the results, with 7,491 candidates qualifying compared to 5,503 male candidates. In the SVU region, 3,962 female candidates qualified, while 3,521 male candidates cleared the examination.
