The National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Warangal has registered an impressive performance in the 2025-26 placement season, with 93.75% of its undergraduate (UG) students securing jobs. One of them bagged the institute’s highest-ever domestic annual package of ₹1.27 crore.

According to officials, 660 of the 704 eligible UG students were placed during the recruitment drive. At the postgraduate (PG) level, 677 out of 860 eligible students secured placements, taking the placement rate to 78.72%. The institute said the figures are likely to improve further after accounting for off-campus placements and students opting for higher studies.

Nayan Tyagi, a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) student, secured the record domestic package of ₹1.27 crore, the highest ever offered to a student of this institute. Another student, Nashwan from the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department, bagged a package of ₹1 crore, highlighting the strong demand for NIT Warangal graduates across disciplines.

The placement season saw six students receiving offers exceeding ₹70 lakh and 27 students securing packages above ₹50 lakh. More than 130 students received offers above ₹30 lakh, while over 720 students secured packages in excess of ₹10 lakh.

The average annual package for UG students stood at ₹18.54 lakh, with a median package of ₹15 lakh. PG students secured an average package of ₹12.13 lakh and a median package of ₹9 lakh.

More than 360 companies participated in the placement drive, a substantial increase from 290 companies in 2025 and 305 in 2024, reflecting growing industry confidence in the institute’s talent pool.

Students secured offers across diverse sectors, including software development, which accounted for 410 offers, core engineering with 480 offers, analytics with 230 offers and several other domains.

Data released by the institute showed that the UG placement rate increased from 83% in 2024 and 86% in 2025 to 93.75% in 2026. The highest UG package also rose sharply to ₹1.273 crore from ₹64.3 lakh in 2025 and ₹88 lakh in 2024.

Similarly, the PG placement rate improved from 72% in 2024 and 76% in 2025 to 78.7% in 2026. The highest package offered to a PG student this year stood at ₹64.7 lakh, marginally higher than ₹64.3 lakh in 2025 and ₹63.5 lakh in 2024.

NIT Warangal director Bidyadhar Subudhi attributed the outstanding performance to the collective efforts of the institute and the Centre for Career Planning and Development. He said the institute’s sustained focus on academic excellence, skill development and career preparedness played a key role in the placement success.
