A major fire broke out at Shree Radha Krishna Traders, under the limits of the Gajuwaka police station, in the early hours of Sunday (May 10, 2026).
According to officials, no injuries or casualties were reported as the incident occurred during the night, when there was no human activity in the area. The fire reportedly broke out in an open space where large quantities of scrap material had been dumped.

The flames and thick plumes of smoke were visible from a considerable distance, causing panic among nearby residents and commuters. A large quantity of plastic scrap is believed to have been gutted in the blaze, with dense fumes filling the surroundings.
Personnel from the Fire Services Department and the Gajuwaka police rushed to the spot soon after receiving information. Four fire tenders were pressed into service, and firefighters worked for several hours to bring the flames under control. The operation continued till morning due to the intensity of the fire.

Fire department officials said the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. They suspect a short circuit. The Gajuwaka police have registered a case, and an investigation is on.
