C. Muthukumaran assumed office as Collector of Karur district on Monday.
He is the 21st Collector of Karur district since it was formed on September 30, 1996. Mr. Muthukumaran replaces G. Ravikumar, who was posted as Collector, days ahead of the announcement of the Assembly elections.
In his previous assignment, Mr. Muthukumaran held the post of Director of Disaster Management in Chennai. He had worked as District Revenue Officer in Virudhunagar and Krishnagiri districts.
Mr. Muthukumaran held a review meeting with various officials on Tuesday to take stock of the ongoing schemes. D.N. Harikiran, Superintendent of Police, and senior officials participated.
