The Konaje Gram Panchayat has imposed penalty of ₹25,000 on Mangalore University for burning of waste accumulated in an open area in the University’s Mangala Gangothri campus here.
In a letter dated April 29, Wednesday, addressed to University Registrar Ganesh Sanjeev, Panchayat Development Officer D. Rajani said that following complaints about burning of mixed waste, she visited the spot on Wednesday along with the Health Officer, Primary Health Centre, Natekal.
