Tamil Nadu and Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar appealed to students at the Lawrence School in Lovedale, Udhagamandalam to “become good human beings who are useful to society,” at the school’s 168th Founder’s Day celebrations on Thursday (April 30).
A press release from the school said that Mr. Arlekar noted that while high marks and “getting settled” are common ambitions, they should not be the ultimate purpose of life. He emphasised that the true achievement is becoming a good human being who is useful to society.
