The ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, which won 3 of the 5 Assembly constituencies in the district in 2021, has now lost four seats retaining only Palayamkottai.

Even though the DMK combine had won Palayamkottai, Nanguneri and Radhapuram in the 2021 elections even as Tirunelveli and Ambasamudram had gone in favour of BJP and AIADMK respectively, the Dravidian major had to content with just Palayamkottai alone this time as the TVK has wrested Tirunelveli, Nanguneri and Radhapuram segments while AIADMK has retained its Ambasamudram constituency.
