Unidentified men snatched 11-sovereign gold chain from a women riding a two-wheeler near Devakottai here on Sunday.
Police said, M. Kaleeswari, 45, a resident of Kalungudi near Karaikudi in Sivaganga district, was returning home on her scooter on Sunday afternoon after dropping off her sister at Thachangudi.
As she approached the Kalathur bridge near Devakottai, two individuals arriving on a motorcycle from behind kicked Kaleeswari’s scooter, making her to fall.
Kaleeswari sustained injuries in the fall. Subsequently, the individuals snatched the 11 sovereign gold chain she was wearing and fled on their motorcycle.
Public rescued the injured Kaleeswari and admitted her to the Devakottai Government Hospital. The Sakkottai police have registered a case.
