Student admissions for regular first year, lateral entry (direct second year admission) and part-time courses have begun at Government Polytechnic College, Thuvakudi, this week.
According to an official press release, lateral entry admissions at the institution are open for civil engineering, (English and Tamil medium), mechanical engineering, (English and Tamil medium), mechanical engineering Computer Aided Design, electrical and electronics engineering, Internet of Things and Digital Manufacturing Technologies, among other subjects.
Those interested can apply online through the official www.tnpoly.in portal, or seek assistance through the admission help desk in the college.
To join the regular and part-time diploma courses, applicants must furnish their Class X marksheets. Lateral entry candidates must present either their Class XII marks, or Class X marksheets and their two-year I.T.I certificates.
S.C./S.T. candidates are exempted from paying application fees.
May 25, 2026 is the last date for lateral entry candidates to apply for the assured job placement plus third-year internship programme at Tata Skill Development Centre with an annual fee of around ₹2,000, said the release.
First year and part-time applications must be submitted by May 30.
At Kalaignar Karunanidhi Government Arts College for Women, Pudukottai, admissions have begun through the online process at www.tngasa.com for undergraduate courses in Tamil and English medium.
Students can apply for Bachelors of Arts courses in Tamil, English, History, Economics and Tourism and Travel Management, among other subjects.
In the second phase, admissions for B.A. History (Tamil medium), B.Com. B.Sc. Mathematics and Computer Science (English medium), and Bachelor of Business Administration will be open until May 29 through online enrolment, said an official press release.
