Amid soaring mercury levels and intense heat wave conditions gripping various places, the Forest Department has planned to quench the thirst of wild animals and birds in the reserve forests in Tiruchi and Pudukottai districts by filling water in the troughs periodically.
The move started at the onset of the summer season inside the forests where water troughs have been created by the department. The reserve forests serve as a home for wild animals, including Indian Gaurs, spotted deer and jackal, besides monkeys and birds.
