Two youngsters involved in a series of mobile phone thefts targeting hostels were arrested by the Gachibowli police. The police seized 54 stolen mobile phones worth around ₹2.5 lakh from their possession.
The accused were identifeid as Mohammed Sahil and Bandari Vinod, both aged 19, and residents of Mandula Basti, Langer Houz.
Officials said 19 mobile phones linked directly to the five registered cases were recovered from the accused. During the investigation, police also seized another 35 mobile phones stolen by the duo from different locations.
The accused were subsequently produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Police said the duo had been targeting hostels within the Gachibowli police station limits and stealing mobile phones from residents.
