A total of 507 candidates were absent from the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate (UG) medical programmes held on Sunday, across 27 centres in Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari and Thoothukudi districts.
The NEET was conducted across the country. In Tirunelveli district, the exams were held at 12 centres, including The Muslim Higher Secondary School, Melapalayam, St. John’s Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai, Sarah Tucker College, Perumal Puram, Ignatius Convent Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai and Rani Anna Government College for Women, Palayapettai.
Out of the total of 6,580 students allotted across the centres, a total of 6,360 candidates appeared, while 220 were absent.
