Lord Narayana descends in every yuga to protect the righteous and destroy the forces of evil. In the Bhagavad Gita, He declares: Paritranaya Sadhunam, Vinasaya Cha Dushkritam, Dharma Samsthapanarthaya Sambhavami Yuge Yuge. (The Lord incarnates in every age to protect devotees, destroy evil, and re-establish dharma.) Lord has three chakras associated with Him to protect us — Sudarsana Chakram, Jagath Chakram and Kalachakram.
In one of his discourses, Sri Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy emphasised that while material wealth naturally passes on to the next generation through inheritance, bhakti and spiritual wisdom should be instilled in children from a young age. That is the greatest inheritance parents can offer.
Among the four yugas, many divine incarnations of Bhagavan appeared during Krita Yuga, including Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha and Vamana.
The significance of Varaha avatar has been glorified by saints and acharyas such as Ramanuja, Nammazhvar, and Parasara Bhattar.
Lord explains that through His divine power, Maya Shakti, all beings move according to their karma. Yet among them, those who surrender to Him with devotion are especially protected by Him.
The central teaching of the Varaha avatar is that spiritual duties and practices meant for a particular stage of life should be performed at the proper age itself, rather than postponed till old age. Lord Varaha assures that if a devotee sincerely prays to Him while he is healthy, the devotee will be remembered and protected by Him in his final moments, ultimately guiding him toward the supreme abode, Vaikuntha.
Just as Varaha rescued Bhudevi by destroying the demon Hiranyaksha, so too does He protect all human beings from the ocean of samsara and from worldly bondage.
Lord declares that when adharma prevails in Kali Yuga, He will incarnate as Kalki at the end of Kali Yuga to restore dharma and protect the world.
