A young woman passenger was fined and later let off after she allegedly broke the side window of a KSRTC Swift bus near Mankavu in Kozhikode recently, following a dispute over the bus not stopping at her requested location.

According to sources at the Medical College police station, the incident took place last Sunday (May 10, 2026) when the woman demanded that the bus stop in an area where there was no designated stop. When the driver and conductor refused to stop the vehicle, she smashed the side window in a fit of rage, they said. 

Following the incident, the KSRTC authorities slapped her with a fine of ₹25,000, holding her accountable for the damage.
