Chennai-based news website for children YOCee.in has announced the launch of its 20th year Student Reporter Programme. Designed to provide young students with an opportunity to learn basic news reporting skills and get published online at https://yocee.in, this programme is open for those in classes VI to XII. Only 25 students would be enrolled, said a press release.
After a briefing session, students will have the chance to learn on the job, work on story ideas and report on their neighbourhood. Occasional review meetings will be held during the year to ensure that each student is on track with their assignments. The student will report for one year, from June 2026 to May 2027. Upon successful completion of the required number of assignments, student reporters will receive a certificate at the end of the year.
No fee is charged for this programme.
The programme aims to provide invaluable news reporting experience to high school children. In the previous years, select news reports by YOCee’s student reporters have been featured on international youth media websites. The reporters get the opportunity to participate in such projects regularly.
