Two persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of a youth, M. Prabhakaran, who was found dead inside a well in Sevalur under M. Pudupatti on Thursday night.
The arrested persons were identified as N. Suresh, 43, of Sevalur and Vignesh, 38, of Madurai.
The police said that Prabhakaran, who is a relative of Suresh, was in love with the latter’s daughter. Suresh did not like their relationship.
On Thursday, he brought his friend Vignesh from Madurai and both had consumed liquor with Prabhakaran.
After a quarrel, they murdered him and pushed him into a well.
