The Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has alleged that the Congress party emerged victorious in the Davangere South Assembly constituency through “power of money” and “blatant misuse of State machinery”.
SDPI State president Abdul Majeed told reporters in Mysuru on Monday (May 4) that the Congress party had allegedly secured victory by “resorting to electoral malpractices through backdoor means and by deploying enormous resources. There was direct interference in every ward and the Ministers, MLAs, and heads of several boards and corporations were assigned to closely control the electoral process”.
