Cracking the whip on ‘erring’ officials, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy asked Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to submit a list of officials who did not go to villages for field inspection of the ongoing works of their respective departments.

The Chief Minister wanted the Chief Secretary to issue showcause notices to such officials found guilty of not going on field visits despite clear instructions. “Seek explanation from the officials and district collectors as to why action should not be taken against them for not visiting the field in violation of the instructions,” the Chief Minister said directing the Chief Secretary not to spare those found guilty.

The Chief Minister who reviewed the progress of the 99-day action plan which concluded on June 12 expressed dissatisfaction that few departments could not publicize the programmes launched as part of the Prajapati Palana - Pragati Nivedika programme. He wanted officials of these departments to take steps to create adequate awareness about their programmes.

He wanted officials to take the feedback of the people and their elected representatives about the problems in the respective areas and take steps to resolve them at the earliest. The Panchayat Raj department officials were directed to submit list of village panchayats that did not have own buildings and prepare action plans for their construction. Similarly, steps should be taken to set up solar power generation plants atop school buildings and facial recognition systems should be deployed in educational and health institutions for marking attendance.

Stating that the three-month programme took the government closer to people, the Chief Minister wanted officials to conduct reviews to assess the impact of the 99-day action plan at the district and mandal levels too.
