As a mark of protest against Karnataka government’s notification allowing hijab in educational institutions, members of Sri Rama Sene distributed saffron shawls to colleges students in Hubballi on Monday (June 1, 2026).
The Sene members stood with a bunch of saffron shawls at the entrance of two educational institutions in Hubballi and distributed it to students with an appeal to wear them regularly while coming to college.

Sene office bearer Bash Durgad said that they distributed around 200 saffron shawls to students at Kanakadasa College and Manila Vidyapeetha.
Subsequently, they stood by the roadside and gave shawls to those going to colleges wearing uniforms.
The Sene plans to hold similar shawl distribution drives in other colleges in the coming days to protest against the rollback on ban on wearing hijab.
