I will be accessible to the public and will give no room for corruption in any form, said Minister T. K. Prabhu here on Thursday.

The newly elected MLA from Karaikudi Assembly Constituency, who was inducted in the Tamilaga Vettri Kalagam (TVK) Cabinet headed by C. Joseph Vijay, was accorded a rousing reception at Karaikudi by the party workers and public.

Many women, who received him with traditional ‘aarathi’ showered praise on his victory and thanked party leader Mr Vijay for given the MLA a recognition as a Minister.

In a brief address to the party functionaries, Dr Prabhu, a dentist in Karaikudi, said that he would be always accessible to the people. He appealed to the partymen to be transparent and fair in delivering the objectives of the party’s leader.

“The people have given the TVK a great opportunity. They have trusted our leader Mr Vijay to give a clean government. We should ensure that it becomes a reality and keep our promises. Based on our performance, the people will surely vote only for the TVK in the future,” he said with confidence.

Later speaking to media persons, he said that the Chief Minister had directed all the MLAs of the party to go to the constituencies and work in coordination with the district administration. “We will not deviate from our promises made during electioneering,” he said and reiterated that the people around him may be elated on his victory and having become the Minister, they may even be overwhelmed, but they should not misuse or bring in any negative image to the governance.

The Minister, who has stepped in to the Assembly for the first time, said that he has been learning many things and hoped to implement the goals of the government. He also wished that the TVK cadres would act as a catalyst between the people and the government.
