Authorities have stepped up security arrangements ahead of the visit of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister for Defence Rajnath Singh to Puttaparthi in in Sri Sathya Sai district on May 15, where they are scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the ₹1 lakh crore fifth-generation fighter aircraft manufacturing project spread across 650 acres.

District Collector A. Shyam Prasad said on Wednesday that the proposed defence manufacturing facility was expected to emerge as a major aerospace and defence hub in the region and generate large-scale direct and indirect employment opportunities.

Mr. Shyam Prasad inspected the public meeting venue at Beedupalli village in Puttaparthi mandal and reviewed the arrangements for the programme. The Collector directed the departments concerned to coordinate closely to ensure smooth conduct of the event and prevent inconvenience to the public. He also instructed officials to keep electricity, medical, and fire services on standby at the venue.

Separately, Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar reviewed the security arrangements with sector officers at the district police office. He inspected the security measures at the Sri Sathya Sai airport, along the convoy routes, and at the meeting venue. Police officers were instructed to ensure uninterrupted traffic management for VIP and public vehicles. Mr. Satish Kumar later inspected barricading, parking arrangements, entry points, and crowd management measures with senior officers.

Lokesh’s visit

Police officials also reviewed the arrangements for IT Minister Nara Lokesh’s May 14 visit to Battalapalli in the district, where he was scheduled to attend a programme at the RDT Hospital.
