Terminal 1 of Navi Mumbai International Airport and Terminal 2 of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, have featured in the list of Prix Versailles as two of the world’s most beautiful airports in 2026.

The two airports are run by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), India’s largest private airport operator. The Paris-based Prix Versailles is one of the world’s leading annual architecture and design awards.

Prix Versailles awards both newly launched airports and terminals for their contemporary creations that embody a synthesis of distinctive architecture, reflecting how airports are moving beyond conventional design to offer a richer and more harmonious vision of the world. Its recognition acknowledges design, sustainability, and passenger-centric planning.

Five other international airports have featured alongside the Navi Mumbai and Guwahati airports. These are Cambodia’s Kandal Stueng airport, China’s Guangzhou airport, Germany’s Frankfurt am Main airport, and the Pittsburgh and San Diego airports in the United States.

An AAHL statement said: “Terminal 1 of the Navi Mumbai airport was recognised for its distinctive lotus-inspired architecture, futuristic design language and integration of technology, art, and functionality, creating a world-class gateway that reflects India’s aspirations as a modern global economy.”

Terminal 2 of the Guwahati airport was recognised “for its bamboo-based design, reflecting the region’s rich biodiversity”, the statement said.

“We see airports as important connectors of people and regions. The recognition of the two airports by Prix Versailles validates our focus on developing infrastructures, which are at par with the best in architectural excellence with functionality, sustainability, and operational efficiency,” an AAHL spokesperson said.
