Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday directed officials across departments to adopt a humane and citizen-centric approach while addressing grievances received through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), emphasising that empathy and courteous behaviour were essential for strengthening public trust in governance.

Reviewing the performance of various departments at the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) centre in the State Secretariat, Mr. Naidu said government employees should place themselves in the position of petitioners and focus on resolving issues with sensitivity and responsibility. Citizens approaching government offices for assistance should be treated with dignity and respect, he said, adding that effective grievance redressal was a key measure of administrative efficiency.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of improving soft skills among employees and promoting innovation in governance. He said responsibilities should be assigned based on performance and encouraged officials to continuously upgrade their knowledge and adapt to changing administrative requirements. Human resources, he observed, must be utilised effectively to improve service delivery and public satisfaction.

Mr. Naidu said regular field visits by ministers and officials were necessary to understand ground realities and make informed policy decisions. He noted that technology had transformed governance and significantly simplified processes that were once considered major administrative challenges.

False propaganda

Expressing concern over misinformation campaigns, the Chief Minister alleged that certain political forces were attempting to politicise issues and create social divisions by giving incidents caste or religious overtones. He urged officials to act swiftly against false propaganda and activities that could disturb social harmony.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the need to address crimes linked to substance abuse and mental health issues and said law enforcement agencies were successfully solving several old criminal cases. He further directed officials to strengthen environmental protection measures, improve water security, prevent pollution, and expedite efforts to establish Quantum and Semiconductor Parks in the State.
