Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of woman bank employee.
When bank employee P. Muthumalai, 36, who was living alone with her 5-year-old daughter in Thiyagaraja Nagar, was returning home last Saturday night, two unidentified persons hacked her to death on the spot.
Perumalpuram police, who registered a case in this connection, found that Muthumalai, after leaving her husband, married another person from Andhra Pradesh. Following frequent domestic quarrels, she left him and with her daughter settled at Thiyagaraja Nagar.
When she developed relationship with a youth from Nanguneri, Muthumalai’s brother Panneerselvam scolded her and asked her to snap the relationship. As the affair reportedly continued, Panneerselvam and his friend Siva, 28, of Vaagaikulam hacked her to death on instructions from one Esakkipandi, 35, of Alwaneri near Nanugneri, the police said.
After arresting Esakki Pandi on Sunday, the police nabbed Panneerselvam and Siva on Monday.
