A 22-year-old drug peddler was arrested by the Madhapur police and the Kukatpally Special Operations Team (SOT) during a raid at an apartment in Chandra Naik Thanda, leading to the seizure of MDMA and OG Kush along with other incriminating material.
The accused was identified as Dhanekula Tharun Teja, a resident of Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. During the search operation, police recovered 15 grams of MDMA, 382 grams of OG Kush, nine mobile phones, two weighing machines, and various drug consumption and packing materials.
According to the police, Tharun Teja confessed to procuring the narcotic substances from suppliers based in Vijayawada and distributing them in Hyderabad.
Police said two other individuals, identified as Karthik and Pruthvi, both residents of Vijayawada, were involved in supplying the contraband and currently remain at large.
During the raid, police also found eight young individuals inside the flat consuming prohibited substances. The individuals told investigators that they had been purchasing MDMA and OG Kush from the arrested accused for personal consumption.
Police said the investigation is continuing to identify the source of the contraband, trace the absconding suspects and establish the full extent of the drug distribution network.
