Kanniyakumari Collector R. Alagumeena on Saturday inspected development works at Kadayal town panchayat of Kanniyakumari district on Saturday.
Under the ‘tholkudi’ project in Kanniyakumari district, ₹1.26 crore has been allocated and houses are being built for tribal people at various places in Kadayal town panchayat including Perunkuruvi, Puraiyidam and Cherukidathukani.
She inspected the progress of construction works and visited the Primary Health Centre that is being constructed in Modhiramalai under the special area development project. The construction of the PHC was almost over, and Ms. Alagumeena instructed officials to expedite completion for the benefit of the tribal people.
Meanwhile, Thoothukudi Collector inspected restoration of various tanks and canals in the district.
He visited the Government Veterinary Hospital in Pudhugramam and inspected the operation theatre, drugs storage unit, radiation unit and other facilities of the hospital.
He also inspected the Puckle canal widening work near FCI godown and visited Thoothukudi Government Medical College and Hospital (TKGMCH), where he reviewed facilities across several departments.
He was accompanied by Corporation Commissioner S. Priyanka, Regional Joint Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Vijayakumar, TKGMCH dean (in-charge) R. Padmanabhan and others during the inspection.
