With a pass rate of 96.70% in the class 12 board examinations, Ramanathapuram district secured the 12th place in the State level. As the district stood at 19th place in 2025, it has gone up by seven ranks in 2026.
In the class 12 board examinations, 14,032 students, comprising 6,709 boys and 7,323 girls from 161 schools—including 70 government higher secondary schools, 36 government-aided schools, 54 matriculation schools, and one district government model school—in Ramanathapuram district appeared for the exams.
In this, a total of 13,569 students, consisting of 6,369 boys and 7,200 girls, passed. With 94.93% of boys and 98.32% of girls passing, the district achieved an average pass rate of 96.70%.
With this, the district secured the 12th place in the State level. While it held the 18th place in 2020, third place in 2022, 12th place in 2023, 17th place in 2024, and 19th place in 2025.
This year, it has moved up to the 12th position. In the pass rate of government schools, 95.53% of students passed, and the district secured the 8th place at the State level.
In the district, 59 schools—including 17 government higher secondary schools, seven government-aided schools, and 35 matriculation schools—attained 100 per cent pass results.
