The southern railways have enforced train traffic diversion for selected trains between Ernakulam junction and Kayamkulam junction in connection with the launching of gangway girders as part of Foot Over Bridge (FOB) construction at Kayamkulam Junction. The diverted trains will run via Alappuzha.

Train No. 16348 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Express, leaving Mangaluru Central on May 7, will run via Alappuzha instead of Kottayam route. The train will skip stoppages at Piravam Road, Kottayam, Changanassery, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Mavelikara. Additional stoppages will be provided at Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha and Ambalappuzha.
