HYDERABAD
A Class VII student from Kumram Bheem Asifabad district secured patent registration from the Patent Office for an innovative parking management project designed to address congestion in crowded public places.
Alsa Mamatha, a student of MPUPS Bhupalapatnam, developed the project - Parking Management in Crowded Places.
It was first exhibited at the district-level INSPIRE exhibition, where it won first prize, and later advanced to the State-level exhibition. The model uses an IR sensor and LCD display system to detect whether a parking slot is occupied or vacant. When a vehicle occupies the slot, the display shows “Slot Full,” and when empty, it displays “Slot Empty.” The innovation is particularly useful in crowded places such as hospitals, shopping malls, and other public spaces.
Guide teacher Moulkari Keshav and District Science Officer Katukam Madhukar also received certificates for their contribution.
Congratulating the team on Friday, Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas said the achievement reflects the innovation and scientific talent present in government school students and would inspire many more to pursue research and creativity.
